of snowboarding, and the ability to demonstate a beginner
and novice movement to a student.
-A positive attitude towards the development of a beginner

(too timid, poor english, poor communication to class).
-Are ambiguous with their oral/ridden demonstration.
-Show poor class management, or lack safety/organization
crutial for being responsable for an entire class.
PASS/FAIL SCENARIO:
Those who sucessfully pass both components are eligable
to be immediately hired anywhere within Canada as a
beginner instructor. Most resorts will require new instructors
to 'shadow' the class of an experienced instructor before
taking their own class. For more information on employment,
check out our 'Employment' page.
In a fail situation for either riding or teaching, the
candidate will be able to return for a re-test at a
later date for the portion failed. If it is riding,
the candidate will attend Day One at a future course.
If it is teaching, the candidate will attend Day Three
at a future course. Candidates will be trained and evaluated
during those days only.
The cost to re-test for only teaching or riding is $75,
and candidates may do it at any time.
Candidates that are unsucessful in passing both the
riding and teaching portions will be required to take
the entire course over again.
Your examiner should give you an approximation of how
long they feel you should take before attempting again.
Should you have any questions regarding the level required
or re-testing for a component, please do not hesitate
to contact us in the office during business hours.
