Laundry There are washing machines and dryers in the chalets. Towels It is nesecarry to bring your own towels for the season. 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel is fine.
Drinking water The tap water in Fernie is drinkable. As with any foreign country it will take a while to get used to it so it is advisable to drink bottled water. This will cost about 95 cents a litre in the local supermarket. The Electricity In Canada they run on 110V. This doesn't have the juice to power British appliances. What you can do though is buy an converter which provides 220V. DO NOT BUY IN ENGLAND, if you buy this in England you will pay about £70, if you buy this in a hardware shop in Fernie you will pay about $23.00(Canadian). This device is safe and allows the use of hairdryers, shaver and stereo. Bedding Bedding (pillow, sheets and blanket) is provided in all the packages. Bed linen is supplied also. Classic packagers get theirs washed once a week. Check out the link or click on Powder Lodge on the top right of the home page: http://www.seasonaires.com/accommodation/details.asp?LINK_PROPERTIES_ID=155

Telephone / Internet |
TOP |
All properties have a telephone with incoming calls and FREE local calls. Telephones are simple to use and phone cards can be purchased from all sorts of places, photo shops, Chinese restaurants ! and even the supermarket for $5, 10, 15, 20 or $50. The higher the value the less the call charges per minute. You dial via a freephone number so you get about 18 minutes of calls for a $5 dollar card. The best thing to do though is get the person you're ringing to ring you back!

As Fernie is so close to many other resorts AND the season pass works there too, this year, we're incorporating trips to Lake Louise, Kimberly and for those who want to do it all, Banff. With your Fernie super pass, why not spend a few days in Lake Louise. Louise is not quite a residential resort unfortunately, but has an excellent and huge hill and is just up the road. Long weekend packages start at just £95. Alternatively, try Banff where long weekend packages start at £195. Email fernie@seasonaires.com or call 0870 478 1038, or for more details.

Backcountry |
TOP |
This is probbaly what Fernie is most well known for, its powder and terrain. With five alpine bowls nestled in the rocky mountains fresh turns are a plenty. Once you have enjoyed the easier to reach powder there is plenty more that can be accessed by snowcat or snowmobile. Backcountry trips are always best taken with a local guide who knows the area and conditions. We're not going to lay all the secret spots on a plate for you...you will have to come to Fernie and see for yourself why it is attainting a mecca like status for powder.
