High in the Chilean Andes. About 2 hours from Santiago via 41 hairpin turns. Riders visiting Seasonaires El Colorado accomodation not only get to ride at El Colorado, They have the option of the Interconnect Pass, which combines El Colorado with the resorts of La Parva and Valle Nevado. Each area has its own treasures...La Chiminea chute at La Parva or the world class Superpipe at Valle Nevado and the east side of El Colorado infamous for catching the deepest powder from the South Pacific storms swept in from the tip of Antarctica. 35+ lifts topping out at 3670mts. Excellent backcountry access of Mt Plomo standing tall at 5430mts. Theres plenty of terrain for a full season of snow sliding fun.

Chile is the worlds longest and thinnest country, stretching almost 4000km, about the same distance from Edinburgh to Baghdad. Never wider than 180km it would seem as though it was all mountains and beaches when actually this diverse country has a bit of everything; the worlds driest desert in the north, rainforests in the south, 40 active volcanoes, and even lays claim to a chunk of Antarctica. All this and a verdant agricultural valley, epic surf breaks and the beautiful Andes mountain range. Santiago, the capital is the 5th largest city in South America. Chile is possibly the most stable and economically sound country on the continent thanks to trade agreements with countries across the world and a population that is intelligent, charming, and welcomes visitors with open arms. You do not need a special Visa for visiting Chile. Upon arrival into the country you receive a visitor visa that is good for 3 months. It is possible to extend this for another 3 months by leaving Chile and reentering. A weekend in Mendoza, Argentina is a great way to take care of that. Electricity is 220v, European style plug with 2 circular metal pins.

El Colorado attracts the most locals from Santiago during the season and they love to eat, drink and party into the early hours. At the moment the exchange rate between the Chilean peso and the British Pound works out at about 1000pesos to the pound. Happy hour 2for1 beers cost 1200pesos at El Alambique Pub and Restaurant means you can join right in with the fiesta which often runs into the morning with DJs from Chile, Brazil and beyond. While out on the hill the take a break from learniing new tricks in the park and stop in at Boarder Snacks which sits next to all the rails and kickers. Its open patio is a perfect place to fuel up for the afternoon session. Other options in the immediate vicinity of El Colorado include El Montanes. Sitting above the pistes offering great food and views. El Montanes turns into another great place to see DJs and live music after the sun goes down.

Accident Protocol
We hope that nothing will happen and no one will get sick but we would be silly not to prepare for an incident. It is comforting to know that if anything was to happen a competent reliable person is going to be there with all the relevant information and experience needed. All seasoners complete a medical information form and provide emergency contact numbers and names.
First Aid Kits
It is advisable to take your own first aid kit, even though there will be one available. In your personal first aid kit you can collect the contents that will be useful to yourself. The standard treat at home requirements are :
Plasters, Steri strips, Steri wipes, Arnica cream (you will have bruises), lemsip, painkillers.
A good first aid kit is available from www.snowboardasylum.co.uk, this contains the basic tools and will need to be personalised with your own requirements.
